Our Speakers

  • Kevin Urbatsch is the owner of the special needs and settlement planning law firm, The Urbatsch Law Firm P.C. located in Berkeley, California. He has practiced law for over 30-years. Kevin also serves as National Director of the Academy of Special Needs Planners (ASNP), a national organization of special needs and settlement planning professionals. He is a State Bar of California, Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate law. He is also a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). Kevin served over five years as Editor-in-Chief of the National Academy of Elder Law (NAELA) Journal.

    Kevin has been a member of the California Bar since 1993. He received his law degree from St. Louis University in 1993 and his undergraduate degree from Truman State University in 1988. He began his California law practice as a litigator, where he specialized in various matters, including but not limited to elder financial abuse, Americans with Disabilities Act public access cases, and trust and estate litigation. Kevin is married to special needs attorney extraordinaire, Michele Fuller, who practices in Michigan. The two enjoy traveling, trying to keep up with their four children, and two French Bulldogs, Buster and Posie.

  • Michele P. Fuller is the founder of Michigan Law Center, PLLC; and President of Advocacy, Inc., a non-profit organization serving as a trustee of special needs trusts and settlement trusts. Her law practice focuses on special needs planning and settlement planning.

    Michele proudly
    served as Special Assistant Attorney General for the $600 million Flint Water Case where she also designed the settlement process. She was inducted as a Fellow of the Academy of Court-Appointed Neutrals because of her work in that case. She also advocated as co-counsel on behalf of the minor patient claimants in the $13 million Hawthorn class action matter.

  • Jeremy L. Lau serves as the CEO of Prudent Investors. He frequently speaks on investment management and financial planning to professional fiduciaries and trust and estate attorneys around the country. Jeremy regularly advises fiduciaries on managing their clients’ assets and financial planning needs and also works with estate litigators as a financial expert witness. Before Prudent Investors he worked in senior roles in the investment banking industry in Tokyo and Hong Kong. He graduated in Accounting from Brigham Young University and has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designations.
