Founder and Co-Trustee
As a senior partner at Yim & Yempuku, Stephen focuses primarily on estate planning, drafting wills and trusts, providing supplemental needs-planning for families of children with disabilities, advising on charitable giving for tax purposes, navigating estate and gift taxes, and administering estates.

Co-Trustee
As Managing Partner at Yim & Yempuku, Monica received her undergraduate degree in Political Science from University of Hawaii at Manoa and her Juris Doctor degree from William S. Richardson School of Law. A second generation attorney admitted to practice in 2020, she has worked alongside Stephen B. Yim for the past 18 years.
Monica’s specialized practice is in estate planning, including supplemental needs planning for families who have children with disabilities, as well as estate administration and probate. She is a member of the Hawaii State Bar Association (“HSBA”), American Bar Association (“ABA”), and Hawaii Estate Planning Council (“HEPC”). Monica is also part of the Estate Planning Section of the HSBA, The Elder Law Section of the HSBA, and the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of the ABA.

Executive Director, Co-Trustee
Britta Lau is the Executive Director and Co-Trustee of the Heartfelt Legacy Foundation, where she is dedicated to helping families plan their futures, together with compassion and clarity.
Before stepping into her leadership role at the foundation, Britta spent 12 years at an estate planning law firm, the Law Offices of Stephen B. Yim (now the Law Offices of Yim and Yempuku), serving in various capacities, including Office Manager. Through her work at the firm, she witnessed firsthand the challenges families face when preparing for the future, which deepened her commitment to the foundation’s mission. Recognizing the profound impact of thoughtful planning, she became a Trustee of the foundation in 2018 and later assumed the role of Executive Director and Co-Trustee in 2023.
Born and raised on the island of Oahu, Britta has a deep-rooted connection to her community. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and an Associate’s degree from the University of Montana. Outside of her professional endeavors, she enjoys sports, spending time in the ocean, and making cherished memories outdoors with her husband and their three young children.
Through her leadership at the Heartfelt Legacy Foundation, Britta is committed to ensuring that families receive the guidance and support they need to create meaningful and lasting legacies for future generations.

Co-Trustee
Christina Leos is a dedicated paralegal at the Law Offices of Yim and Yempuku. Although she
earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Biology from the University of Hawaii, she discovered a passion for estate planning and now enjoys working in the field as a paralegal.
Currently, Christina is a proud member of the Hawaii Estate Planning Council (HEPC), demonstrating her commitment to professional growth and excellence in estate planning.
In 2025, Christina joined the Heartfelt Legacy Foundation as its newest co-trustee, where she is eager to help families across Hawaii navigate estate planning with care and compassion.
Outside of her professional life, Christina enjoys traveling and is an avid triathlete. She actively trains for and participates in endurance events, including the Half Ironman in Kona.
